Haojue vs TVS, Hero and Bajaj: A Route-First Zambia Guide

HAOJUE ZAMBIA · ROUTE-FIRST BUYER GUIDE
Specifications and local Haojue prices checked on 23 October 2026.

A motorcycle can look like the right choice on paper and still be wrong for your daily journey. If you are comparing Haojue, TVS, Hero and Bajaj in Zambia, start with the route: smooth town roads, frequent stops, or stretches of uneven access road?

Here is where Haojue deserves a closer look. The NK150 offers a different set of chassis features from the commuter models below. The EG150-X provides a lower-seat, lower-priced alternative within our range. And the XPRESS Plus gives riders another five-speed option in the 125cc class. The useful question is not which country makes the best motorcycle. It is which specific bike fits your work, your budget and you.

1. Uneven roads? Look beyond the engine size

The NK150 specification graphics in our store list 244 mm ground clearance, a front disc brake and a 19-inch front wheel. These are concrete reasons to inspect it if uneven surfaces form part of your normal route. Its listed seat height is 835 mm and kerb mass is 139 kg, so check your footing and how easily you can move it when parked. See the NK150 and its specification images.

Haojue NK150 vs TVS HLX 150 5 Gear Refresh

TVS's Zambia page lists 195 mm ground clearance, front and rear drum brakes, and a 17-inch front wheel for this exact HLX variant. The NK150 therefore has 49 mm more listed ground clearance and a different front-brake setup. That extra nominal clearance is worth considering for uneven access roads; it does not guarantee obstacle clearance once the bike is loaded.

TVS has advantages to weigh too: its page lists a lower vehicle weight of 123 kg, plus 9.0 kW peak power, compared with 8.3 kW for the NK150. Both have five speeds. Do not mistake a disc-brake specification for proof of a shorter stopping distance, or extra clearance for better handling in every situation. Source: TVS Zambia.

Haojue NK150 vs Bajaj Boxer 150 X

The Boxer 150 X on Bajaj's Zambia website has a 144.8 cc engine, five gears, an 11 L tank and drum brakes at both ends. Its listed kerb weight is 125 kg. The NK150's 149 cc specification includes a 12.2 L tank and front disc/rear drum brakes: useful differences to inspect, rather than treating every 150cc-class motorcycle as the same package.

The Boxer is 14 kg lighter on those listed weights, which may matter when parking or moving it by hand. The NK150's larger tank is not evidence of better fuel economy or longer real-world range. We have not imported a ground-clearance figure from a different country's Boxer model. Source: Bajaj Zambia, Boxer 150 X.

Haojue NK150 vs Hero Hunter 150

Hero's Zambia website lists 10 kW peak power and 12.80 Nm peak torque for the ordinary Hunter 150, compared with the NK150's listed 8.3 kW and 11.4 Nm. The Hero therefore has higher published peak output; this is not a claim that Haojue wins every specification.

If your priority is the NK150's high-clearance chassis, inspect that package alongside the exact Hunter offered to you. Ask the Hero seller to confirm ground clearance, brake equipment and seat height in writing. Hero lists the Hunter 150 and Hunter 150 TR separately, so specifications should not be mixed between them. Source: Hero Zambia.

2. Mostly town riding? You may not need the NK150

Haojue EG150-X: listed at ZMW 29,700 on 23 October 2026.

One benefit of shopping the Haojue range is being able to compare different riding fits without assuming that the most expensive model is the right one. Our EG150-X listing specifies a 780 mm seat height, 180 mm ground clearance, a 12 L tank and front/rear drum brakes.

That seat is 55 mm lower than the NK150's listed seat, and the current motorcycle price is ZMW 10,800 less. It is worth trying if you want a lower-seat option for everyday transport. However, the EG150-X is listed at 140 kg, so it is not the lighter bike. Seat width, reach and confidence at a stop matter as much as the height figure.

3. Want a 125cc option? Compare the XPRESS Plus too

Haojue XPRESS Plus: a 124.9 cc, five-speed alternative in our local range.

The XPRESS Plus is listed with a five-speed transmission, electric/kick starting and a 12.6 L tank. Its 126 kg kerb mass is 14 kg below the EG150-X's, although its 820 mm seat is taller. Compare both in person rather than assuming a smaller engine always means a lower price or an easier fit.

For a separate, like-sized comparison with the Hero Hunter 125 and TVS HLX 125 5G, see our 125cc comparison guide.

4. Put the buying cost beside the specification

These are our current listed motorcycle prices, not competitor quotations or complete on-road totals:

Haojue model Motorcycle With registration service
EG150-X ZMW 29,700 ZMW 32,200
XPRESS Plus ZMW 30,600 ZMW 33,100
NK150 ZMW 40,500 ZMW 43,000

Our listed registration service is ZMW 2,500 extra, with estimated processing of approximately one week. Confirm what it covers and allow separately for insurance, protective equipment, transport and any accessories. Prices, stock and processing time can change.

Ask TVS, Hero and Bajaj sellers for an itemised quote on the same basis. Without comparable current local quotations, we do not claim that Haojue is the cheapest. Without comparable testing, we do not claim lower fuel consumption, longer engine life or higher resale value.

Make your shortlist with HAOJUE ZAMBIA

Start with the NK150 if its clearance and front-disc specification answer a real need on your route. Compare the EG150-X if a lower seat and lower purchase price within our range matter more. Try the XPRESS Plus if you prefer the lighter of our two conventional commuter options discussed here.

Before buying any brand, ask for the exact variant, permitted load, written warranty, service schedule and availability of parts for that model. A catalogue cannot replace checking the motorcycle you will receive.

Sources and comparison scope

Haojue prices and local descriptions were checked against our live store listings on 23 October 2026. NK150 figures come from the specification graphics in our listing, cross-checked against the Haojue Africa export catalogue. The export catalogue is not a guarantee of every Zambia-supplied unit's equipment. Competitor facts come from the linked Zambia manufacturer pages, checked on the same date.

This is a retailer's practical buying guide, not an independent road test. The NK150 and the commuter models serve overlapping but different needs and are not assumed to have equal prices.
